Toddler Program

2 years - 4 years

Once the child turns two, we devote a lot more time into intentional learning which allows us and the children to participate in shared thinking and problem solving to complete difficult tasks. This transition does not mean play-based learning is no longer utilized; it is now supplemented by conversations and more distinct guidelines that advance in difficulty as the child develops a more complex vocabulary. The children learn to focus by understanding the purpose of the task and sit down at a table to finish it.

Milestones

We often do not see the immediate difference when our children become toddlers, but the milestones listed below are clear indicators that they are becoming independent learners. We aid the parents in facilitating their children's milestones as they can be very difficult to reach at this age. We provide literature, advice and any support necessary but keep in mind that these milestones are mainly reached when the child watches the other children accomplish them.

  1. Diapers to Pull-Ups to Potty
  2. Sippy Cup to Regular Cup
  3. Play Pen to Sleeping Bag
  4. Being Changed to Changing Self Entirely

Social Experimentation

One-on-One Attention with Teacher

Social Experimentation

We find that children's physical, social, and intellectual development are positively affected by the presence of children younger and older than them. They learn through interaction and observance and make social decisions earlier and thus garner more experience.

Group Work

One-on-One Attention with Teacher

Social Experimentation

We encourage the children to look at each other for help while being there for assistance when need be. We do most activities together in order for the children to always have support but each child completes the same project on different difficulty levels.

One-on-One Attention with Teacher

We work alone with a child on a task where the speed and difficulty are customized to the needs of the child. During these activities, their skills are evaluated and the child is praised for their talents and the areas in need of improvement are recognized and worked on.
